A Little Boosterthon Action and a Resolving Conflict Freebie!

I'm seeing everyone post about how they just got done with their first week of school and I'm like, "Yeah, I send out progress reports this week!"  Not much longer until fall break!  WOO HOO!  So I don't know if anyone else's school does Boosterthon but it's a fundraiser where the kids get pledges for the school and there are prizes and a fun run and yada, yada.  Well, there is a grade level poster contest and MY TA did the poster for the grade level!
The theme was Rock and Roll.

 We are totally gonna win...
And of course my TA had to put himself front and center because he said "he was the star of the show."
(It was his idea, after all.)

I don't know about y'all, but with everything we have to teach, Social Studies just falls to the wayside.  We were supposed to teach a few lessons on conflict, but I didn't have the books, the websites wouldn't pull up, yada, yada...
So I made some conflict cards for us to discuss as a class.
I displayed them for discussion during snack time.  Yes, it's sad I have to squeeze in Social Studies during snack time.
And then I had them do a quick response to conflict to see if they understood the concept.

If y'all want the cards, you can get them HERE FOR FREE!

Super quick post to say hey before our THREE DAY WEEKEND!!!
Y'all have a good one!

  1. Congrats on almost making it to Fall Break!! I love the conflict cards and can totally relate to you on not being able to fit everything in, it's rough!!! My school participated in Boosterthon for the first time last year, it was a lot of fun! Best of luck on the poster contest!!

  2. Love the poster. I have to make one next week. Can you give me some information on how it was made. What clipart was used? How did he make the crowd? Thank you

    1. Hi Molly! The clip art used to make the bodies is from Melonheadz. I already had purchased the clip art from TPT. Nikki has some really cute rock and roll clip art :) Then my TA took our pictures with our ipads and uploaded them onto the computer, printed them out and cut out our faces to go on the bodies. To make the crowd, what he did was project the image of a crowd on black butcher paper and traced the outline with a white crayon. Then he just cut it out! Hopefully this helps - and good luck!
