I'm linking up with Stephanie from Falling into First for a Meet the Teacher Blogger party!
Hey Y'all! My name is Ashley Johnson and I'm the teacher behind "The Sassy Schoolteacher" blog. This is my 10th year teaching. I started out in first for two years, moved to Kindergarten for six years, and for the past two years I've been back in first grade. I don't know what I was missing - I love the firsties!
I'm originally from sunny Florida, and while I miss the sunshine state, I'm enjoying the seasons of North Carolina.
I got married in April to this awesome guy! We were married under a 100 year old oak tree on a horse farm in Florida...
We were friends in college, but never dated. Then we ran into each other seven years later!
Together we have a nine year old yorkie named Rosco.
A Few of My Favorite Things...
If you weren't a teacher, what would you want to be?
A professional housewife.
Three words that describe you.
Obsessive. Compulsive. Disorder.
Finish the Sentence: " ______________, said no teacher ever!!"
"I just love hearing you say my name over and over and over while you tap me on the arm", said no teacher ever!!
It's your birthday and you can invite anyone (dead or alive) to the party. Who are you inviting?
Bill Cosby. I saw him live one time and he's just good, clean fun.
If someone wrote the book about your life, what would be the title?
The Sassy Schoolteacher, of course!
You get to pick one Superpower. What is it?
I would be able to turn gossip into glitter.
What's your favorite quote or saying?
"Our greatest glory is in not ever failing, but in rising every time we fail." Ralph Waldo Emerson
If you could sing one song on American Idol, what would it be?
Ice, Ice, Baby.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Considering I'm in bed every night by 9:00, morning person.
What's your favorite resource you've created in your TPT shop?
I love this unit. It's differentiated and it's fun. I've used it in both my Kindergarten classes and as a review for my firsties.
Share something we might not know about you!
I'm extremely left handed which probably accounts for my creativity and perfectionism.
I agree there is something about first grade. Your wedding looks magically with the tree and horse farm. Happy Back to School!

Thank you! And yes, I have one that doesn't say my name over and over this year. She just says "Excuse me...excuse me...excuse me....excuse me..." I mean, I could go on and on!
DeleteYour wedding looks so gorgeous! I am from North Carolina as well :)

Thank you! I am still in love with my own wedding! HA! Hopefully we don't get the snow we did this next year!
DeleteBeing a professional housewife would be amazing! And turning gossip into glitter...love that!
ReplyDeleteWell, you gotta turn that gossip into somethin, am I right? Gladys, I love your blog! Do you really teach in high heels? My shoes are off by 1:00 and the flats go on!
DeleteIt's like we are of one mind! I love the idea of turning gossip into glitter...ice coffee is a must, I'm easily distracted by shiny things...you are just hysterical girlie! BTW I'm also left handed...it's like we are meant to be besties!
